It went poorly: change date
Occasionally the mailing date can give you a problem. Different types of promotion work at different times, and it is sometimes necessary to think through when is the right time to mail.
Obviously the issue of which date is right for you depends on
a) the product
b) to whom you are selling.
For example, it is hard to sell to teachers in August when they are not at school. It is hard to sell a new range of summer t-shirts in October, and so on. These are obvious factors - but there are many others which are not so obvious, and which can take the mailer by surprise. If you are stuck as to why you are having a hard time of direct mail, and you are advised that everything else looks all right, then start seeking opinions from within the industry you are selling to, in order to see if any time issues are occurring that you are unaware of .
